The Nigerian Crypto Craze

This is a short documentary that I shot, directed, scripted, edited, and narrated myself. It was one of the two final projects for my masters course TV Journalism at Goldsmiths, University of London.

The Nigerian Crypto Craze explores the high crypto affinity in Nigeria. Unknown to many, the country boasts the highest crypto adoption worldwide. Four in ten internet users use the digital money – for trading, speculation, hedging against the weak Nigerian naira, or for domestic and international money transfers.

But is it a technology for the few or the many? Are people aware of the risks? And will Nigeria be at the forefront of changing the future of crypto and blockchain technology?
