TikTok Series “Becoming A Lagosian”

In the summer of 2022, I worked for the West Africa office of Deutsche Welle in Lagos, Nigeria. There, I supported the local correspondents crew in reporting, and coudl even develop my own format for DW Lagos’ TikTok channel (now The 77 Per Cent).

My colleague Victor, one of the content producers for DW Lagos, and I created the mini-series “Becoming A Lagosian”, in which I learn how to buy “Bolè” (grilled ripe plantain) using only Lagosian Pidgin English, how it feels to drive in a “Keke” (the Lagosian tuktuk) or an “Okada”, and found out what Nigerian dish you shouldn’t miss out on.
